Based on an old tale from Odia Mahabharat written by Sarala Das in 1467 AD, the story states Kokua, the fear of unknown can drive people mad. During a monsoon boar hunt, timid Muna and his domineering uncle Ashok take shelter in an abandoned hut. Ashok mocks Muna’s fear, warning that fear attracts death—like the legend of Rabandhara, a forest deity said to claim two lives each monsoon. As tensions rise, buried trauma surfaces, and a heated argument turns violent. In a moment of rage, Muna kills Ashok. Fleeing in panic, Muna stumbles into a waterfall and meets a grim fate. Whether cursed by Rabandhara or haunted by his own demons, Muna becomes the legend’s second victim.
